Historic buildings which form the popular Leopold Square residential development in the heart of Sheffield city centre are now under our management.
Holly House, Bow House and York House - a collection of former Victorian educational buildings which, together with later and modern additions house 46 apartments across four blocks – had previously been managed by leaseholders themselves.
However, leaseholder directors of Leopold Square Management Company have now hired Pure Block Management to take over the day-to-day running of the buildings – and the long-term planning and budgeting to ensure facilities can be maintained to the highest of standards.

First contract on South Yorkshire
The contract marks the first venture into Sheffield for our team, and director Laura Street says she is delighted to have been appointed to manage such a prominent site in the Steel City.
She says our expertise in the ‘unexciting but essential aspects’ of residential property management that leaseholders sought us out for.
“We’re thrilled to have been entrusted to manage the Leopold Square residential development given the history of the buildings, and their position at the heart of a popular and vibrant area of Sheffield,” she said.
“The development has been well managed by leaseholder directors for many years, but like many others they have turned to specialist support given the constantly changing requirements over compliance, and the complexities around budgeting.
“It can all become too much of a burden on leaseholders who essentially just want to enjoy their properties, and feel assured their asset is part of a well-maintained development, as of course this impacts on value.”

Compliance, contracts and budgets reviewed
Ms Street says all compliance requirements of Leopold Square have been immediately reviewed, leading to changes being made with regards to insurance cover, contractors and budgets.
“Our role is to do all the unexciting but essential aspects of maintaining and managing shared residential complexes,” added Ms Street.
“That means reviewing all aspects of compliance to make sure legal requirements are met, all issues around the maintenance and upkeep of buildings, including contractor agreements, and of course budgeting to make sure we can plan ahead into the future, and have financial reserves for when it is required.
“We like to think that our reputation for our quality in terms of compliance, financial management and planning proceeds us, and as this contract came to us through a recommendation, helping us break into a new location, that appears to be the case.”
