Specialist Becca Cornforth joins York team as further North Yorkshire growth targeted

Pure Block Management is delighted to have added further industry experience to the team to ensure we can continue meeting demand for our specialist services.

Having enjoyed rapid growth since opening a dedicated office in York in January 2025, we have secured contracts to manage developments on behalf of owners and leaseholders not only in York itself, but also in Harrogate, Wetherby, and Whitby.

Now, having secured two more new contracts on which work is due to start in the coming weeks, and with others in the pipeline, experienced block management specialist Becca Cornforth has joined our team.

Maintaining highest standards

Associate director Laura Street says recruitment was essential to firstly ensure the business can maintain the standards which have proved such a recipe for success so far, and secondly to help Pure Block Management continue its growth.

“We’ve enjoyed rapid growth across North Yorkshire since we opened in York in December 2024, adding an extra 530 units to our management roster in that time," she said.

“In that time, we recruited our dedicated compliance manager in George Baker to ensure our block managers could focus entirely on client service, but we again reached a point due to continued growth where recruitment was needed to ensure we have the hands-on deck to maintain our high standards moving forward.

“Bringing in someone of Becca’s experience was vital as we needed somebody who could hit the ground running in terms of the knowing the basics of the role, and she has done that.

“Block Management is all about providing quality customer service and communication, qualities Becca brings given her time working in hotel management.

“Bringing in someone with her knowledge and experience also means we can confidently continue to seek to grow our client base, knowing we have the team in place to be able to maintain our high levels of customer service, communication and compliance.

“We know there is a lot of market shift at the moment with block owners and leaseholders looking to change away from their current providers to others who communicate better, and respond at speed.

“Our locality ensures we are able to do this at all times and it is why recruiting somebody with excellent local knowledge was key for us.”

‘Great career opportunity’

In her role as Block Management Assistant, Ms Cornforth, who was previously with another local agent, will initially play a supporting role in ensuring effective management of current sites managed by the team, before taking on others as new business is secured.

She will be supported through The Property Institute Training qualifications in Leasehold Management, and, having been born in Whitby and now living in York, says it is a perfect new role for her.

“I’m delighted to have joined Pure Block Management as I feel it is the perfect business for me to develop my skills and a great career opportunity,” she said.

“I’ve been really impressed at how the business has quickly established itself as a leader in the field across North Yorkshire, and from my first couple of weeks in the role I have witnessed first-hand how professionally everything is run to ensure clients benefit from a first-class service.

“I am looking forward to learning from my new colleagues, and also to using my knowledge and experience to help the business continue growing and succeeding.”

Pure Block Management oversees every aspect of managing a shared residential complex, from budgeting and regulatory compliance to the maintenance and daily upkeep of communal areas, lifts, lighting and gardens.

In 2025, we won national recognition for our growth at the News on the Block Property Management Awards, when we were highly commended in the ‘Scale Up’ category.
